First Day of School!

McKenzie and Owen started their first days of school. Owen kept saying how much fun he had. McKenzie also had fun. She made a couple new friends and even has a boy that we go to church with in her school class. I can't wait for our house to be done! Right now it's about a 30 minute drive to take the kids to school. It will be nice to not have to drive so far.

Our Home

Well, we are moving again, but it is taking longer than expected. We put an offer on 2 bank owned homes that didn't work out. 1 was the home next door to my sister. Since we were having trouble getting into bank-owned homes, we decided to build a home. Our home should be done in about 2-3 weeks!

We're Moving! Again...

I know! I know! We move a ton! This time is different. We are buying a house and will be closing the end of July. The best thing is that it is right next door to my sister and my brother and his wife and buying a house in the same subdivision!

The house is currently 3 bedrooms 2 1/2 baths. 2300 sq ft. it needs a little bit of work (new carpet and there's room to add 2 more bedrooms) but its prefect for us.

When we first moved back from Pocatello, we went to church with my sister. I remember feeling like we were "home." My husband thought it was because we weren't in Pocatello anymore, but everything just felt right. We are so EXCITED!

Softball Is Over

Our softball season ended last week. I really loved coaching and my girls are awesome!!

Mckenzie was the most improved player. She started softball afraid of the ball. She couldn't throw very well and she was scared to catch the ball so she would let it bounce first. By the end of the season, she was able to catch the ball and make an out.

Schools Out!

Yesterday was McKenzie's last day of 1st Grade. She is really excited to spend time with the family and her neighbor friends, but she is going to miss her school friends and teachers.

When she got home, she was asking to play with friends, go swimming, spend the night and more. Mckenzie is excited to have some free time.

Next year, Owen starts kindergarten, so for a few hours a day, I will only have Zoey at home...it's going to be weird!

Spring Break!

We just got done with Spring Break. Although, I'm going to miss spending time with McKenzie, I'm so glad to be getting back to our normal schedule. Here's all the fun stuff we did.

I worked a lot this week. It was a little rough on the kids, but it will be nice to see the extra money.

McKenzie and I had softball practice. I'm so proud of how much McKenzie has improved! She is catching more balls, throwing the ball harder and hitting the ball farther! She really is a fast learner.

McKenzie also got her ears pierced. She's been wanting to get them pierced for awhile. She was very brave and really likes her earrings.

Owen started tball this week. He is so smart and loves to play. He is even catching the ball. I can't believe how quick they are growing up!

Zoey enjoyed playing at the playground while Owen practiced. She has so much energy, that sitting still drives her crazy!

My Grandparents came to visit for a day and I was so excited to see them. It's been a long time and I miss them so much. I just wish they could've stayed longer.

We were able to watch all the sessions of Conference. The spirit was so strong. We made some personal and family goals that we will be working to make improvements. I'm so excited to get started!

Other than that, not much else happened. (I know. We're boring.)

General Conference

Today as I listened and watched General Conference, I felt as if they were all talking to me directly. I felt the spirit so strong. I know that I need to do better.

I'm so greatful for the "Spiritual Pick Me Up" and the friendly reminders to continue to improve in everything I do. I'm also extremely excited for the future Meridian Temple that is going to be built! How blessed are we to have 2 Temples, both about 20 minutes away!

Softball Coach

We signed McKenzie and Owen up for little league again this year. They both had a lot of fun playing tball together last year. This year McKenzie is old enough to play softball. The league needed a coach and asked if I would be interested. So I'm coaching McKenzie's team. I was really nervous about it at first, because I am not a leader in most cases and I haven't played softball for many years. After going to the coaches meeting today, I felt excited. I'm excited to step a little out of my comfort zone and be a leader to the girl's on the team and I hope that I will be able to be a good coach for them. I'm also excited to coach McKenzie!

2010 in a Nutshell

2010 was such a crazy year! We moved to Pocatello so Matt could go to school. He got a commission only position and was told the average person would make X amount of dollars. Matt was the #1-#2 salesman for the store and he was making less or right at minimum wage. After 3 short months of that, we sold everything we had of value and moved back. Matt is back at his old job doing awesome! He changed his major and is now going to school for business management.

After we moved to Pocatello, Zoey changed. The move was especially hard on her. She couldn't sleep at night and would just scream. She was sick throwing up several different times in just the 3 months we were there.

Moving to Pocatello wasn't all bad. We met some really great people. It was almost like we went on vacation for 3 months.

McKenzie graduated from Kindergarten while we were in Pocatello. She made new friends and did really awesome for moving in the middle of the school year. She is very outgoing and makes friends very easily.

Matt turned the big 3-0. We were in Pocatello then and we didn't know anybody. So we had a simple birthday, just the 5 of us.

We moved back the end of June and stayed with family for the first couple months while we got back on our feet. We found a really great rental home in a great area. After we got the keys to the house, the kids got to look around the place for the first time. McKenzie and Owen say, "This is our dream house!" The first night her Zoey actually slept through the night. This place feels like home.

I missed being by family. I was really home sick. When we finally made the decision to move back, I was so relieved.

After moving back, I got a job at a day care. I can take my kids with me to work for free and I absolutely love being with my kids and making a little bit of extra money. Plus I get a couple of hours talking with other adults.

Owen has been a great brother to his sisters. Zoey looks up to him so much and is always calling for Owen. McKenzie and Owen still play with each other when they can. He misses McKenzie while she's in school.

McKenzie started first grade at a new school. She made friends very quickly and has a great teacher. She loves school and is at a 2nd-3rd grade reading level. McKenzie is learning Chinese and is teaching everyone what she is learning. By the time she is in 3rd grade she should be able to fluently speak Chinese.

2010 was great and 2011 should be even better!

Tooth Fairy Visit

McKenzie lost her first tooth on Sunday, January 23rd. She is in first grade and most of her friends have lost multiple teeth, so she was pretty excited to have finally lost one.

After she pulled out her tooth, she put it under her pillow. When she went to go to bed she lost the tooth so we were looking for it. When we found it we had McKenzie write a note to the Tooth Fairy saying that the tooth would be on the counter in the kitchen, just so it wouldn't get lost again.

The Tooth Fairy woke up McKenzie by mistake, but it was too dark for McKenzie to see anything. She was so excited that she came in our room and showed us the money that she got. When McKenzie was talking about the tooth fairy she would say, "he did this" or "he did that" instead of "she" which I thought was pretty cute. I think she got that after seeing Tooth Fairy with The Rock.

I'm Back!

It has been a long time since my last post, but I'm back and excited to start blogging again!
