At home Photo shoot-McKenzie

At home Photo shoot-Owen

Owen wanted to make funny faces and he wanted to kick and point and do random goofy boy stuff. I was glad that I did get a couple really cute picture of him.

At home Photo shoot-Zoey

Zoey was so easy to do because she just sat there. Towards the end though, her expression didn't change.

A Lesson about Love and Forgiveness

The other day I was doing laundry and McKenzie comes to tell me that there is several neighbor kids running through our lawn while the sprinklers are running. I opened the door and asked them to leave. I get absolutely no response. They don't even acknowledge me. So I asked nicely again. And again. And Again. After several times of nicely asking them to stay off the lawn and out of the sprinklers I got out to them and firmly tell them to leave. I finally get them all to go, but as soon as I get back into the house, they are back out in the sprinklers and running through my lawn. I go back outside and tell them that they will not be allowed back to play if they did not leave. Shortly thereafter the sprinklers turned off.

I was furious because these kids are fairly young and there parents are nowhere to be seen. 1 Mom was gone. The other was in her house watching this all take place and the other parents were inside totally unaware of what their children were doing. Not only all this, but we had just laid grass seed and fertilizer down to the dead spots in the lawn.

Then, we get a knock at the door and the same kids are there and they ask me if they could borrow our kiddie pool. I lost it at that point. I said that if they wouldn't listen to me or respect my things then they would not be allowed to use my stuff. I yelled pretty good. Telling them that they need to be respectful and one of the kids yelled back, "we're sorry!" I felt really good at this point, because I felt that they could all use a goo lesson.

Well, the next thing I know, all the kids come back and they have roses for me. They said that they just wanted to be nice. Boy did I feel like a complete jerk. They are just kids ad they wanted to have a little fun. I learned a wonderful lesson from the neighbor kids that day. They were so quick to do something nice when I was awful to them.

Here are the pretty flowers that they gave me.

It's been WAY too long!

I wish that I could say that we've been very busy since my last post...but we really haven't done much.

The kids have been playing with their friends a lot this summer

My Mom, all my sisters and I went to see My Sister's Keeper together. It was a pretty good movie, but a huge tear jerker.

We got McKenzie registered for kindergarten. She told me that she's really excited, but she is a little bit scared. I can't believe how big she is getting!

Owen is our little devil lately. He randomly will hit, push, sit and kick Zoey. We also still have not gotten him fully potty trained. He has been going potty in the toilet for a year and a half, but he still pees in his pants several times a day. (Any suggestions???) I've pretty much just given up. If you ask where pee is supposed to go, he will say, "In the toilet." He knows what he's supposed to do, he just will not do it. Owen is very cute and we love him very much. We are hoping that he will figure it out soon!

Zoey is walking around on furniture and every once in awhile she will get brave enough to stand on her own.

Matt had his company picnic at Settler's park. We won camping chairs with a cooler. (not as cool as our prize last year, a gift card to the Anniversary Inn. But the chairs will be used.)

We had 2 garage sales to try and get rid of some things that we don't use.

McKenzie Turned 5 and we had a pool party in the backyard. She had a lot of fun with all her friends!

Matt is still working at RC Willey selling appliances and electronics.

I am still playing volleyball twice a week. There is rumors that our stake will be doing co-ed volleyball in the fall... I also am still working with Cents Of Style, it's a lot of fun, plus a few times a month I get out of the house!

Well, I think that's about it!

Zoey is Talking!

On June 6th, we were sitting down getting ready for dinner. Zoey was in the living room jabbering away, then she started saying, "Dada." She was saying it so much that I was able to get a video recorded of her talking on my phone. She's growing up so FAST!!

Last night Matt and I were up with Zoey for a lot of the night. She has a cold and hasn't been sleeping well at all. This morning Matt and I slept in and when we got up this is what we found on our webcam.

Zoey is crawling!

Yesterday was Kristi's birthday party at my parents house. We had cake and it was nice to visit with everyone there. Zoey saw a toy car and was reaching for it. When she couldn't get to it, she started to crawl to get to it. I kept moving it away from her and she kept going! I guess she really wanted that car!

We finally got our family picture taken with Zoey. We just did it with the web cam for now and hope to be able to get it professionally done soon. Here are a couple that we took.

Zoey's 6 Month Checkup

Matt took Zoey in for her 6th month check up and the doctor told him that she has an ear infection! I remember when my sister Jennifer was a baby and she would not stop crying with her ear infections. Zoey has been a little fussy, but I thought it was because she had a cold. She still slept through the night (or she would wake up at 5 or 6in the morning) and she even would laugh and play during the day. Nothing unusual. At least she won't be in pain anymore. Zoey is 17 lbs 13 oz and 27 1/2 inches tall.

We started feeding her rice cereal and she's also had jello and mashed potatoes. Zoey has not started to crawl, yet. She gets on her knees and then puts her head down and tries to move using her head. She has learned how to move her body so she could see what everyone else is doing.

I'm supposed to get McKenzie registered for school soon. I got her birth certificate and then put it in a really great spot so I wouldn't lose it and now I have no idea where it is. She's really excited and every time we drive by her school, she says, "There's my school!"

Owen is talking really well. It's amazing how much he can say now. He has become really sensitive and caring. One time Zoey was crying and while I was making a bottle for her, he goes over to her and starts to play with her. He started moving her legs and was saying, "run, run, run, jump! Run, run, run, Hop!" She stopped crying and was smiling at him. He also says, "I miss you so much!" and "I love you so much!"

Easter

For Easters, we usually try to keep it simple. This year was no different. We try to focus more on the Savior and the resurrection, the true meaning of Easter. We still want the kids to have a little fun as well.

This year, The Easter Bunny hid plastic Easter Eggs all over the living room for McKenzie and Owen to find. He left a note on the white board saying that McKenzie had to find the pink and yellow eggs and Owen had to find the blue and orange ones. We had Church at 9 AM, so the kids had to wait to find and open them until after church. They had lots of fun! Inside the eggs was money, candy and gum balls (their favorite!)I wish that we could have taken pictures, but we are having problems getting pictures uploaded, so the memory is full in the cameras.

Later, we had a late lunch at my parents house and then Matt's family came to our house for a roast dinner. We had a fun day!

McKenzie is Growing Up!

So today, one of our new neighbor kids came over and asked if the kids could play. As soon as they were done with cleaning up their toys, I said they could play. While they were getting their shoes Owen woke up Zoey and I discovered that he had peed in his pants. Not wanting to punish McKenzie, I decided to let her go outside and play with her friend all by herself. I am very paranoid, so I had all the windows and the door open so I could see and hear her. She followed all of my rules and had lots of fun!

Matt's Birthday

Yesterday was kind of a crazy day. I got to watch Richie and it was Matt's birthday. Matt has Thursdays off, so I thought that it would be pretty easy day. Well, Matt had a mandatory meeting at work. It lasted almost 2 hours! Richie was okay, but my kids were off the walls! I was so glad when Matt finally came home. Then I surprised him with a night out, alone, without kids.

First, we went to Cafe Ole for dinner and dessert. While we were there, we saw a couple that looked like our friends Aaron and Nancy. It was so weird! You hear about how everyone has a twin in the world, but we found the perfect twin couple!! Even their mannerisms were similar. We were too far away to get a good picture, plus the lighting was terrible, but here is the best that we could get.

Here is Aaron and Nancy. We don't have a profile shot of them and this picture is a few years old...but if you know them, you would agree!

Here are the look-a-likes.

After dinner, we were going to watch a movie, but we didn't see anything that would thought would be worth watching. So we decided to go to Costco and picked up some chicken and meat while we were in the neighborhood. Then we went to Target for some storage totes that they had on sale and then we picked up the kids. I know, it sounds so romantic! But we hardly EVER get out without kids, so this was really nice. I had a lot of fun! Happy Birthday Matt!

McKenzie and Owen's New Bikes

McKenzie got a bike from my Mom for Christmas, but it was a little too big when she got it. Now, McKenzie is big enough to ride it, so we had her try it out. Owen got McKenzie's old bike and he was so excited! He even got a new helmet to go with it!. We rode around the cul de sac a few times and then came in. I'm glad that the weather has been nice the past few days!

Zoey was sleeping while we were outside so she didn't come out with us. Plus it was starting to get cold. I found this really cute picture of her on the camera. I think Matt may have taken it.

St. Patty's Day

Matt worked on St. Patrick's day this year. I was bored and I wanted to do something with the kids that had to do with St Patrick's day. I'm not into the whole, "you have to wear green or you get pinched thing" But I thought that If I made some green pancakes that would be really fun for the kids.

McKenzie and Owen LOVED the idea and were so excited to eat green pancakes. I wanted to be really creative and make green shamrock pancakes, but I was hungry and I didn't want to go overboard. I think they turned out great!

Jason Came Home!

My Brother, Jason, came home from Rexburg to visit. He didn't tell anyone that he was coming, so we were all surprised to see him. We all hung out at my parent's house and played games and had pizza. It was a lot of fun and I was so glad to see him again. McKenzie took some pics while we were playing games. Most were of Zoey, but here are some other ones.

McKenzie was upset about something. I wanted pictures of everyone, but I was playing a game, so I gave the camera to McKenzie after this. This made her feel better.

Here's Jaime and Richie. I have no idea why she is wearing a birthday hat. She's really goofy.

Here's Zoey.

This is a picture of My Mom, Dad and Angela. It looks like McKenzie caught my Mom in the middle of a yawn!

Here's a picture of my nephew, Hunter. So cute! Although, He kind of looks like he doesn't want his picture taken.

Here is my Dad, Jason and Angela.

Here's Jaime and the silly birthday hat, Kristi and Jarom.

Here's Zoey. She's just hanging out while we play.

Here's Matt

Here's Tyler and Jaime. I guess McKenzie took a bunch of Jaime too!
